B-TEAM MAKES IT SEVEN CONSECUTIVE SUPERBOWLS!!
The Raynham Giants B-Team entered the D3 Superbowl as heavy favorites verse the Pembroke Titans. The two team previous meeting resulted in a lopsided 32-0 victory for the Giants. This was Pembroke's only loss on the season (record 7-1) and before the game started the Titans were fired up for some revenge. The game would start with the Giants receiving the ball and beginning their march to the end zone. Nothing fancy on the opening drive but power running that the Titans could not stop. The only thing that did not work on the opening drive was the two point conversion as the Giants quickly led 6-0. Pembroke knew they needed to mix things up against the very stingy Giant first string defense who has given up only a few touchdowns all season. Mixing things up meant Pembroke would go to the passing attack which the Giants denied right away with an interception. The Giant "O" responded with an aerial assault of their own which struck for more than 40yds and the second touchdown of the game. The Giants would miss again on the two point conversion but lead 12-0 to end the first quarter.
The Titans would again find no offensive momentum as it was a quick 4 downs and out giving the ball back to the Giant "O". As if to keep things fresh, the Giants would go back to the ground again but this time to the outside on sweeps. One nice 45yd run sweep set up the next score to see the Giant lead increase 18-0. With the two point conversion pass good, the Giants lead 20-0 going into halftime. Like almost every game this season, it was essentially over at halftime.
The third quarter would see most of the starters remain in the game and Pembroke would drive deep into Giants territory. This drive would end with a Giants interception inside their own 5yd line and returned to the 20yd line.. The Giant offense seemed to be awakened and drove the 80yds for a touchdown to lead 26-0 and clear the benches for all kids to play. The only down point of the day was when the two point conversion was fumbled and Pembroke ran it back 90yds to steal the two points.
The final score would be 26-2 as the fourth quarter was played at midfield. This Giant B-Team kept it in high gear all year. There was not a close game for this B-Team all season leaving only one question to be debated......BEST B-TEAM EVER????
